Deli Clerk

European Smoked Meat and Deli is a small business in Greater Sudbury, ON P3C 4Z8. We are innovative, customer-centric, and supportive.

We are looking for a Deli Clerk to join our team and provide exceptional customer service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greeting and assisting customers in making purchasing decisions, recommending appropriate food, and cutting and packaging it.
- Merchandising, stocking shelves and coolers.
- Some food preparation is expected along with keeping food prep areas clean including washing trays, bakeware, etc.
- Use of a meat slicer
- Ensure the stockroom is organized and orderly
- Properly processing sales via a computer based cash register
- Following the store's policies and procedures

**Qualifications**
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Basic math skills to accurately weigh and calculate deli items is essential
- Ability to multitask and balance the needs of several customers at once is mandatory
- Good English communication
- Ability to work as a team
- Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor
- Ability to spend an extended period working in a standing position
- Prior experience with a meat slicer is preferred
- Fluency in Polish, Ukrainian, or Croatian is beneficial
- Certificate in Food Handling is a benefit

**Salary**: Up to $16.00 per hour
