**Location**: 5920 MacLeod Trail SW, Calgary, Alberta
**Type**: Full-time, Permanent
**Hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, flexibility required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 2 + years of benefits administration, preferably in a healthcare setting Ability to understand and interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrates empathy, integrity and a high degree of confidentiality
- Must be able to manage a high volume of transactions, and file benefit forms accordingly
- Ability to multi-task, and be very organized
- Able to work under tight timelines for payroll and benefits billing cycles
- Ability to make sound decisions but also recognize when HR/Payroll input is needed
- Must possess clear and professional oral and written communication skills
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Experience administering benefits in a unionized environment is preferred
- Has basic knowledge of group insurance concepts and benefits administration cycles
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

**2. Accountable to perform the following job duties**:
- Perform the day to day administration of the Group Benefits & Group RRSP programs for a multi-union & non-union plan of approximately 900 staff members
- Ensure timely and accurate member enrolments, changes and terminations
- Update and maintain benefits coding in Avanti Payroll for cost-sharing deductions
- Manage all data entries related to Group Benefits/RRSP online, and within the HRIS system
- Regularly update salary information for Life Insurance & Long-Term Disability benefits
- Distribute all benefits related materials including forms, booklets, benefits cards, etc.
- Work closely with Intercare’s Payroll, HR team, and insurance provider
- Act as the main point of contact for all employee inquiries regarding Benefits & RRSP program eligibility, enrolment, changes, RRSP withdrawals and general inquiries
- Conduct regular audit of records, and prepare timely adjustments with payroll processing dates
- Perform monthly benefits billing reconciliation to ensure synchronization of member coverage levels and premiums across all systems, and input adjustments in HRIS system
- Track and check entries after billing and payroll cycles have run, and process adjustments as required
- Create and maintain benefits administration guides, process summaries and workflows as it relates to the Benefits Administration
- Ongoing reporting to determine eligibility for new hires, and enrolling members through online enrollment
- Premium Collections - Reporting to determine balance owing for premiums. Determining the cost of premium sharing, advising employee, and making Payment arrangements. Following up with employee for premium changes, and ongoing accumulated balances.
- Premium Arrangements for LOA - Contact employees on Leave of Absence to discuss benefits continuation and payment plan arrangements.
- Follow up with employees who owe premiums to make alternate arrangements upon returning to work through payroll deductions
- Monthly EFT tracking to collect premiums, and record entries for payment received in Avanti
- Analyze errors, identify trends, and makes recommendations for process improvement
- Provide backup support to the Payroll team with time entry as needed
- Other special projects and duties as assigned
