You have a minimum of five years of experience in internal communications (corporate or media experience a plus) and are ready for the next step. You’re adept at the Microsoft suite (Adobe suite a bonus), can work your way around an intranet (experience with digital communications platforms like FirstUp a big plus) and are comfortable with video as a medium.

Overview:
Part of the global marketing and communications team, the Communications Manager/Specialist, Canada will work with leaders in corporate, operational and client-facing roles to drive employee understanding and engagement around Avison Young’s purpose and strategy. This role will also have the opportunity to support media outreach and content development.
**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Media Relations and Content, Canada, this role will:
- Implement employee communications and engagement strategies in Canada
- Leverage digital tools and relevant content designed to drive clear, consistent messaging across the business
- Oversee message cascade (action and effectiveness) to business, connecting country-specific to global initiatives
- Coordinate French translation of all employee-facing materials, as well as any supporting external materials as required
- Develop internal communications plans in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives throughout the organization; support regional/seasonal comms initiatives, both in Canada and globally (specifically around Avison Young’s rapidly evolving tech platforms)
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Media Relations and Content, to ensure all internal communications and plans are integrated/aligned with external activities and plans
- Measure, report and adjust communications activities based on outcomes
- Monitor communications plan milestone completion; identify process and operational roadblocks; own solution development
- Own major end-to-end internal processes and events on a project, take initiative, and use problem solving skills to think beyond the task to the outcome that needs to be achieved
- Develop content (PPT, talking points, videos) and delivery for large-scale meetings (Town Halls, Sales Meetings, Country All-hands
- As required, support social and traditional media efforts, draft press releases and prepare content (i.e., briefings, social media) - familiarity with Hootsuite a plus
