Job Description

The Material Handler moves small quantities, in the most efficient way possible and with all required information, to the point of use (assembly areas). Tasks includes:

- Comparing identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing products to verify the information against Bill of Ladings, Invoices, Shipping orders or other documentation
- Feeding parts in optimum orientation (piece by piece or in sets)
- Supply and removal of Packaging Material
- Picking check
- Preparing documents for product and inventory being worked on
- Utilizing the inventory system to locate and distribute inventory to support internal and external customer time frames
- Quality checks & Documentation checks
- Handling of remaining quantities
- Information transmission
- Supply and removal of material and Empties
- Pre-Assembly of components
- Communicating effectively within the department and throughout the organization
- Continually monitoring methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental goals relating to efficiencies, equipment utilization and time usage in order to maintain or improve cost competitiveness. Work as a team member to determine and implement necessary changes
- Safely operating equipment, such as forklifts, order pickers, and swing reaches, to assure business unit personnel safety is maintained at all times

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Computer literate & basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Must be able to read English to interpret warehousing documents such as pick tickets, routings and BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Familiar with manufacturing environment, focus on material handling
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills
- Capable of working with mínimal supervision
- Positive attitude & must be able to work in a cooperative team environment
- Detail oriented & able to accurately hand-count parts
- Must have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds & be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
