**Asset Management Planning Leader**

Annual salary: $ 127,900.00 - 161,800.00
**What you'll do**
- BC Hydro Properties Planning & Asset Management (PAM) is responsible for long-term planning and asset management
for BC Hydro’s corporate and field office real estate across British Columbia. PAM also develops and manages the capital
investment plans for the Properties’ managed building portfolio, ensuring the effective and efficient planning and
optimization of capital and maintenance investments. We ensure that Properties 10-year capital plans align with BC Hydro
and Properties' strategic direction and reflect financial and resource constraints, business and operational risks, and
stakeholder business requirements.
The Asset Management Planning Leader is a core member of the Planning and Asset Management Team and has
accountability for the following:
- Planning - Plays a key role in analysis to inform the Properties asset investment strategy and Capital Planning process
including: identifies and prioritizes investments for properties-managed facilities based on asset health, risks, operational
priorities and organizational strategies. Leads long term planning and asset management initiatives through engagement
and analysis of key information (e.g. technical reports and assessments) and understands business needs and priorities of
occupants and stakeholders. Supports the development and coordination of materials on behalf of Properties for BCUC
proceedings as required.
- Asset Management - Develops asset management strategies for Properties managed facilities. Conduct risk/value
assessment, produce report/document, provide recommendations and facility asset plan when and where required.
Manages the development and enhancement of asset management practices/processes and undertakes analysis to
improve the overall completeness and accuracy of asset management data across the Properties’ managed building
portfolio, for example: improved inventories of asset equipment, age, condition and upgrades. Develops sustainment
processes for inventoried information. Delivers on emerging planning & asset management accountabilities as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Teamwork - Undertakes extensive stakeholder engagement and relationship building with
operations and key business groups on asset investment strategy and prioritization of projects and investments including
engagement with senior leaders to develop plans and obtain endorsements/approvals. Fosters teamwork across the
company.
- Safety Compliance Program - Leads, plans, manages and provides guidance where required on compliance programs for
Properties managed sites such as asbestos, PCB, Crane & Hoists, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and water and air
quality testing programs.
**What you bring**
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as real estate, planning, business, economics, communications
or other discipline.
- A minimum of 10-12 years’ demonstrated experience in planning and managing real estate (or similar) projects within large
- investment plans (ideally in the Real Estate/Properties field), asset management programs, and/or project management
experience within complex service areas/categories.
- Strong and proven leadership, relationship building, communication, presentation, facilitation, business writing and
interpersonal skills.
- Good planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- In addition to the above, the following are considered an asset:
- PMP designation.
- Buildings, construction, facilities management and/or real estate knowledge.
- Knowledge of BC Hydro's organization and processes.
