**Position Description**:
We are looking for a Patient Flow Coordinator to join the Neuroscience program. Are you a dynamic, service oriented individual who is eager to use your clinical administration skills to contribute to the high quality care that SickKids provides? If so, then we have an opportunity for you
As a Patient Flow Coordinator, you will enhance and maintain the Neurology and Neurosurgery clinic's operations by coordinating and facilitating the efficient flow of patients through all stages of the clinic visit. You will support all processes involved in a visit from registration to booking of follow-up appointments. You will also have the opportunity to provide suggestions to enhance clinic flow and efficiency through involvement in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives.
**Here's What You'll Get To Do**:
- Performing and charting anthropometrics on patients and ensuring patient data is updated at beginning of patient visit.
- Organizing and maintaining the clinic flow of patients during a clinic. In collaboration with the team, you will prioritize and manage placement of patients in rooms and ensure the room is cleaned between patient placements.
- Providing test instructions to patients for specific tests.
- Managing storage space and supplies including performing purchasing and weekly supply audits.
- Stocking and cataloging educational materials and posting prepared information on Notice Boards within the clinic environment.
- Assessing and developing protocols regarding efficiency within the clinic environment and supporting the implementation of change initiatives within the clinic.
- Answering phone calls and responding to requests for information from families and healthcare staff.
- Collating clinical data and relaying this information in a precise and timely manner to colleagues within and outside of the organization.
- Supporting referral management.
**Here's What You'll Need**:
**Essential Requirements**
- Post-secondary degree in a health related care field.
- Minimum of 3 years clerical or administrative experience in a health care setting. Experience in a hospital environment is required.
- Accurate keyboarding skills and strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required.
- Excellent problem solving skills that demonstrate an ability to anticipate potential issues and make suggestions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with both fellow colleagues and patients.
- The ability to remain focused and prioritizes tasks in a busy and high stress environment.
- Dependability and good attendance is essential.
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
**Assets**
- Experience with Epic
- Scheduling experience and medical terminology knowledge
**Employment Type**: 1.00 FTE Permanent, Full-Time
