Landscape Technician

**Role Summary**
Reporting to the Landscape Manager and Assistant Manager, the Foreman will be responsible for organizing, directing, completing, and reporting crew activity daily. Based out of our landscape job sites in Charlottetown and surrounding area, this role will oversee and carry out all landscape design and landscape contracts.

**What You’ll Do**
- Review scope of work with managers and execute key functions, while also performing hands on activities.
- Effectively lead, mentor, train and motivate crew while demonstrating team values and work ethic.
- Meet at the yard daily, organize truck and workers and go out on your scheduled route.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications including layout of work areas.
- Communicate effectively with customers in a courteous and polite manner.
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn equipment, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all applicable environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the construction process.
- Document all pertinent project information, including site conditions, employee issues, and changes in scope of work.
- Expected to maintain daily work logs, including production notes and site information.
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work site.
- Report unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries and near misses to Assistant Manager.
- Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies, aid in developing solutions, and enforce safe working practices.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**What You Bring**
- 2+ years Foreman experience in a landscape environment required.
- Post secondary education in horticulture or a related field considered an asset.
- Red seal Landscape Horticulturist considered an asset.
- Landscape certification considered an asset.
- Knowledge and the physical ability to safely operate all types of landscape tools required.
- Proven ability to lead and organize teams.
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Willingness to work in a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various locations and weather conditions.
- Energetic, with the ability to lift to 50lbs and bend and twist regularly.
- Valid drivers license.

Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $22.00-$27.50 per hour

**Experience**:

- Landscape: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Red Seal Landscape Horticulturalist Certificate (preferred)
