The Field Applications Specialist - Pathology Imaging and Histology Instruments for Leica Biosystems is responsible for helping achieve Leica sales, profitability, and market share expansion goals for the Digital Pathology & HI businesses.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Support the achievement of annual sales and margin objectives while ensuring an enhanced customer experience through an optimized sales and support experience towards exceeding customer expectations.
- Perform Upstream selling activities within the PI & HI market including building and demonstrating value of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) integration, ePath and histology products, perform integration demos and software presentations, as well as demonstrate technical expertise and know-how regarding all Digital Pathology products and integration into support products such as Cerner, EPIC, Sunquest, Soft, and homegrown systems. This expertise must be able to be delivered independently in calls with the customer.
- Coordinate and manage equipment Installations, including site readiness, pre-installation and post-installation follow-up.
- Conduct virtual and onsite demonstrations and product presentations; actively participate in the sales process for existing and potential customers. Ensure full customer satisfaction with optimization of instrument performance, quality and utilization.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 7 years equivalent work experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.
- Understanding of HI, Histology, Pathology marketplace or a related discipline
- Development in a clinical laboratory environment
- Proficient knowledge of network hardware and network routing.
- Travel Up to 75% and must Possess a valid Driver’s license.

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- Soft, Cerner, EPIC, and Sunquest and/or Anatomic Pathology LIS experience.
- Understanding of Digital Pathology, HI and Histology marketplace. 1+ years’ Histology laboratory experience in clinical, research, or industrial setting with a practical focus OR 1+ years’ experience in the optimization, operation, functionality, and support of Histology instrumentation and related products preferred.
- Electronic Medical/Health Record (EMR or EHR) Systems interfacing is a plus (HL-7) or Laboratory Information System implementation and/or integration preferred.
