**Public Relations & Communications Manager**
The Home Depot Canada’s public relations (PR) and executive communications team is seeking a PR & Communications Manager who is passionate about creating engaging brand communications for Canada’s leading home improvement retailer. The Manager will work closely with the Sr. Manager of PR & Executive Communications to help establish strategic direction and provide day-to-day oversight of integrated external communications plans, influencer marketing, issues management, media/social media listening and measurement.
Position Responsibilities:

- Plan and lead measurable owned and paid media campaigns that increase public awareness of Home Depot’s innovative products, interconnected capabilities, and corporate values
- Develop deep understanding of cross-functional priorities and provide counsel to internal business clients on most effective communications strategies and tactics
- Lead key planning meetings for PR-led initiatives and oversee PR agencies of record and drive to continuously improve metrics and program effectiveness
- Build strong relationships across the business to facilitate content sharing with cross-functional partners
- Review and approve communication materials including pitches, corporate statements, social media posts etc., sometimes acting as company spokesperson
- Negotiate and oversee partnership agreements for content and influencer campaigns, working closely with legal and digital media partners
- Triage and manage issues and crisis communications
- Develop associates through coaching, providing performance feedback and establishing talent development plans
- Lead budget planning nearing $1M

Experience / Knowledge Required
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in public relations, communications or brand management
- Proven ability to manage positive client relationships and lead cross-functional teams effectively
- Creative thinker with ability to bring those ideas to life through clear, strategic plans
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex and sensitive materials into compelling and persuasive content that will connect and impact intended audiences
- Ability to motivate others, lead program management and talent development
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail
- Availability to respond to issues and crises outside typical business hours (issues and crisis management experience required)
- Savvy and knowledgeable of new PR and social media trends/innovation
- Solid understanding of PR and social media metrics
- Strong ethics - a personal reputation for integrity
- Retail, digital media and/or content marketing experience preferred
- Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
