- You are a self-directed individual with a mission in life is to ensure the safety of people and property.
- A seasoned Safety professional with experience in a Health and Safety capacity overseeing trades / subcontractors to ensure compliance with all relevant H&S regulation & legislation.
- Experience with confined space rescue is a definite plus
- Proof of valid or expired special security clearances would be an asset.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures and all related administrative controls;
- Conduct job hazard analysis for all job tasks and ensure development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures
- Ensure use of required personal protective equipment and implementation of emergency evacuation and rescue plans while focused on elimination of unsafe work practices.
- Issue safe work permits; conduct site inspections and completion of required reports.
- Assess and ensure completion of all required safety training; arrange and/or conduct onsite safety orientations, safety talks; conduct accident and incident investigations and report completion.
- Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on all rescue equipment.
- Assess the confined space and create a rescue plan; ensuring all documentation is filled out neatly and adequately.
- Ensure that all workers have the required training and PPE.
- Ensure signs and barriers are erected and setup all necessary equipment.
- Carefully monitor workers and remain alert and vigilant while on standby.
- Perform emergency evacuation and/or carry out rescue plan when required.
**WHAT YOU BRING**:
- 2-3+ year of progressive experience with a safety-based organization or professional association (Fire; EMS; police)
- Preference will be given to individuals with EMS or fire services training. A valid Standard First Aid, CPR & AED certificate is required. Level 1 Paramedic is an asset. Technical Rope Rescue, Confined Space Entry or High Angle Rescue training (preferred)
- Outstanding communication, with a strong attention to detail and must be able to work within a team environment as well as without supervision.
- Must possess excellent hazard awareness, communication and emergency response planning skills with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize action items.
- Refresher WHMIS, Working at Heights, Fire Watch and Fire Safety training will be provided.
- Security clearance is an asset.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Overtime
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bowmanville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
