Part Time Flight Dispatcher

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- the flight following function: to monitor the progress of company aircraft during their operational flights for the purpose of ensuring a safe return and/or rescheduling, and the forwarding of unforeseen maintenance requirements;
- monitoring the initiation, continuation, diversion, and termination of each training flight;
- procedures that will provide for the monitoring of a flight's progress and the notification of the flight training operator and search-and-rescue authorities if the flight is overdue or missing;
- complying with accident or incident reporting procedures;
- being on duty and available when training flights are in progress;
- monitoring flight authorization and flight preparation procedures;
- ensuring that the pilot-in-command is advised, prior to dispatch, of any aeroplane defects that have been deferred;
- assisting with dissemination procedures for operational information and acknowledgement;
- monitoring fuel and oil requirements and aircraft weight and balance, with respect to aircraft release;
- maintenance discrepancy reporting and requirements of completion of flight;
- current information on the location of the operator's aeroplanes maintained at the main base of operations, the sub-base or the satellite base, as appropriate;
- communicating with the pilot-in-command for the purpose of flight following;
- ensuring each training flight conducted is authorized and acknowledged in the daily flight record; and
- all other administrative and house-keeping duties assigned

**SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:
- person who is appointed responsible for flight following must meet the qualifications as outlined in the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the Personnel Licensing and Training Standards;
- sufficiently qualified to follow all procedures listed in CAR 426.50 Operational Control System;
- they must demonstrate to the CFI that they have sufficient experience to provide effective flight following service;
- they must meet all of Montair’s other staff training requirements with respect to Dispatch responsibilities and requirements; and
- have received an appointment letter from the CFI confirming that all initial training has been completed
**MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED**:
- Montair’s computer and office equipment.
- Classroom equipment as necessary.
- AVGAS fuel, oil, machinery
**WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES**
- Duties of administrative performed in the field and training.
- Extended hours in front of the computer and sitting.
- Exposure to a wide variety of environmental conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
