**Gordon Wood Eye Associates **is a full-scope optometry clinic catering to the needs an affluent local community. It is a community-focused office offering premium eye care along with high-end designer eye wear.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
This full-time/part-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about a career in the optical industry and is looking to start right away. We are looking for ambitious and sales-oriented individuals to fill the following position:

- **Optical Assistant or Student Optician**_

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements
- Enter lab orders and accurate patient information as well as supply correct forms
- Verify prescription eyeglasses and notify patients when eyewear is ready
- Dispense, adjust and repair eyewear
- Admin tasks: scheduling appointments for pickups, fittings and patient services
- Educate patients on proper eyewear use and care of new glasses
- Troubleshoot and problem solve eyewear concerns and issues to ensure patient satisfaction
- Work closely with doctors and team members to ensure patient satisfaction
- Perform regular inventory checks and accounts receivable balances
- Perform diagnostic testing and other pre-exam testing as required

- Extremely organized individual who is a self-starter
- Passionate about helping patients with their eye health
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathetic
- Team player with great communication skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline driven
- Curious and life-long learner
- 1-2 years of Optical experience is an asset
- Working towards Optician License is an asset
- Great with fast-paced clinic schedules
- Strong computer skill are a must, with good typing skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Hours will be 4-5 days per week, including Saturdays.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship, Internship / Co-op
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

**Salary**: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
