Superior Facility Services is a family owned business providing environmental services across Ontario for over 30 years. We are currently searching for a Lead Hand Janitor/Cleaner in the Simcoe County area (Barrie, Wasaga, Elmvale, Midland/Penetang/Alliston).

This is a part time/casual position. Hours will change weekly and range from 15 to 40 hours. Shifts range from morning, afternoon, evening and some weekends.

$18.00 hour to start

Under the direction of the Janitorial Operations Manager the Lead Hand is responsible and accountable for providing hands on janitorial duties as well as supporting the Operations Manager in various supervisory tasks.

**Duties**:

- Performs hands on janitorial duties at various locations
- Assists in organizing and managing all aspects of the janitorial department
- Assists in selection, evaluation, promotion and termination of janitorial employees
- Participates in the orientation and training process for new employees
- Maintains records in accordance with the policies and procedures and government regulations and conducts janitorial audits
- Assists with payroll
- Point of contact with customers and provides excellent customer service

Qualifications:

- Experience as a janitor or cleaner
- Proven Supervisory experience 1 -2 years;
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Working knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS);
- Must be adaptable and flexible;
- Must possess patience and tact;
- Must be able to multi-task;
- Must be organized and able to set priorities;
- Ability to obtain a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check; and
- Must have effective English skills, written and verbal.
