What skills are needed for shipping and receiving?

**Requirements**:

- Attention to detail is essential.
- Must have good common sense.
- Experience in a machine shop would be an asset.
- Must be flexible to work on various tasks as required.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated good time management skill with high flexibility.
- High level of integrity and work ethic

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the team with ideas and continuous improvement tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Work safely & effectively, maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- Receive orders as per process description.
- Package orders as per process description
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 plus lbs.
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices
- Tag, mark, or label stock items and ensure they are placed in correct storage location.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Maintain packaging supply inventory and create requisitions when required.
- Other general duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Maintenance
- Complete regular scheduled maintenance on machines
- Perform daily maintenance duties such as but not limited to checking and filling oils, greasing, and cleaning as required.

Not required but would be an asset.
- Lift truck experience
- Able to read a drawing.
- Driver’s license

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hamilton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
