Virtual Simulation Lead

**Duties & Responsibilities**
**DUTIES** **AND**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Leads by best practice standards and current evidence in virtual simulation learning when collaborating with faculty in the development and integration of virtual simulation technology, programs and activities into curricula.
- Collaborates with Simulation Manager and Leads to operationalize virtual simulation activities.
- Designs, and updates workshop materials for virtual simulation integration, including content for Simulation Faculty development Pathway (SimPath).
- Liaises with a broad spectrum of internal and external community partners to promote and implement a shared and realistic virtual simulation vision in alignment with SoHS initiatives.
- Develops and implements continuous quality improvement activities for the virtual simulation program.
- Prepares, updates and ensures the repository of virtual simulation cases, materials and assessment tools is current. Collects and analyses data for annual evaluations.
- Prioritizes and aligns business case development including performing current state assessments and gap analysis on virtual simulation initiatives.
- Identifies budgetary needs for implementing virtual simulation education activities. Supports and participates with the simulation team in the writing of grant submissions and business cases for the virtual simulation healthcare program within the SoHS.
- Organizes the ongoing support for the use of VR hardware and software in the SOHS. Recommends healthcare simulation hardware, software and related resources.
- Attends and participates in appropriate organizational workshops to keep current on educational theory and practice in the use of virtual simulation in health science education.
- Actively participates on committees, special projects, task forces as required.
**Qualifications**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
**Experience**:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience in health care simulation, instructional technology, or virtual simulation development/curricula, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and simulation software products preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading educational technology projects and processes.
**Licenses/Memberships/Certifications**:
Certified Healthcare Simulation Education (CHSE) certification credential preferred.
**Computer Applications & Expertise**:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, experience generating reports and using project management tools.
- Proficiency in the design and composition of creative, high quality, interactive learning materials, preferred.
**Communication/Interpersonal Skills**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- Fosters a culture of respect, understanding, diversity, equity, inclusion and an appreciation for diverse perspectives among students and faculty members in education and healthcare settings. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within organizations and with individuals and teams.**Other Skills/Attributes**:

**Salary Range**
- Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.**Additional Salary Information**
- Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.Position Details
