**Job Summary**

Camp Shake-A-Paw is looking to add another Camp Counsellor/Dog Bather (Dog Daycare Attendant) to our team As a Camp Counsellor, you are an integral part of Camp as our Counsellors have the very important duty of supervising and helping to contribute in creating a peaceful and safe environment for our Campers to play, socialize, learn & explore in.

The role of our Camp Counsellors is a very active one and requires strong team work and good observation and communication skills. Our goal is that all members of our team have a in-depth understanding and knowledge of dog behaviour and psychology. That being said, we provide training to all new members of our team so we set them up for success and in extension, our Campers. Being that a lot of work goes into training our Counsellors, this is not a seasonal or temporary position. In fact, the position we are looking to fill is one we hope will grow with us.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise dogs during playtime and ensure their safety at all times.
- Complete grooming services i.e; baths, nail trims.
- Engage with dogs through play, exercise, and socialization activities.
- Monitor dog behaviour and intervene when necessary to prevent conflicts.
- Encourage good manners & assist in the development of good social skills & cues. (PLEASE NOTE: We provide training on canine behaviour and psychology to all members of our team).
- Maintain cleanliness in the daycare area by cleaning up after dogs and sanitizing play spaces.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners during drop-off and pick-up times.
- Administer basic care such as feeding, administering medication, or grooming as needed.
- Keep detailed records of each dog's behaviour, health, and any incidents that occur during daycare hours and reporting it to the rest of the team and owner as needed.
- Enjoys working outside in a fast paced environment.
- Has dog bathing and nail trimming experience.
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
- Experience in sales and has exceptional customer service skills.
- Good observational skills to monitor dog behaviour and identify potential issues.
- Team player who can work collaboratively with the other members of the team and has a with a positive attitude.
- Punctual and accountable.
- Availability for full time hours during the school year.
- Has transportation to and from work.
- Available to work during the week and one day on the weekend.
