This role is responsible for providing a complete range of contracting and licensing services for the Sun Life Financial Distribution advisors.

**This position is accountable for**:

- all contracting, Life and Mutual Fund licensing needs for SLFD advisors;
- executing the directives set forth by our business and compliance partners;
- ensuring people, processes, best practices, and contractual and business rules work in unison to deliver exceptional service; and
- helping to drive our business forward in efficiency and effectiveness.

In this role, you will have up to 11 direct reports. You will work very closely with the other team leaders and managers within Distribution Compensation Services on delivering outstanding service to our advisors.

In this role, you will have considerable interaction with Sun Life Financial Distribution advisors; the district offices; the Regional Vice Presidents; Legal; Compliance; Group Benefits and other teams within Distribution Compensation Services.

**What will you do?**
- Develop, coach and lead contracting and licensing teams members supporting SLFD advisors and staff.
- Respond to contracting/licensing related inquiries from advisors, as well as other individuals and teams within head office, including external business partners;
- Review service standard and workflow management reports, initiating process improvements where necessary;
- Enhance and follow through on audits and controls for contracting and licensing processes; and guidance and decisions on complex and exception situations.
- Leverage technology to improve the team’s performance
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, distribution partners and colleagues

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing a production-oriented team
- Superior leadership skills, ability to create win/win solutions with business partners and facilitate cross-departmental teamwork that meets the needs of the business strategy
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in managing service levels and SLAs within an operation
- Strong and proficient knowledge of Excel
- Energetic and enthusiastic with the ability to interact professionally with people at all levels of the company and externally
- A positive attitude with a commitment to high quality service
- Proficient conflict resolution skills
- A keen sense of how to optimize business
- An ability to think outside of the box to come up with creative and new solutions
- Relentless pursuit in improving our client experience

**Assets**:

- Bilingualism (French-English)
- Knowledge of Sun Life individual and wealth administration systems
- Proficient knowledge of Sun Life’s retail products
- Knowledge of Canadian Life and Mutual Fund licensing guidelines
- Sound knowledge of project management techniques, tools and methodologies is an asset
