Do you have a passion for science and are fascinated by Sudbury’s unique structure and minerals? Are you looking for a unique and exciting place to share that knowledge? Dynamic Earth is currently seeking a STEM Specialist to join our team of innovative and creative leaders that form the core to our STEM Delivery team. Specialists deliver exciting science experiences through exhibits, workshops, and educational programs, they provide feedback to help shape development and use their people skills to coach and mentor a team of staff and volunteers in the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.
**Position Highlights**:
- Developing, delivering, training, and, overseeing the delivery of, programs and workshops
- Planning, organizing and delivering programs and initiatives with external partners
- Supporting research, prototyping, development and evaluation of new countertop exhibits
- Driving and implementing delivery standards to ensure exceptional visitor experiences
- Leading and overseeing aspects of programs/exhibits related to area of expertise including staff performance, training, workshop/content and exhibit development
- Liaising, coordinating, supporting and collaborating with internal and external clients
- Anticipating needs/issues, identifying solutions and responding to client/visitor complaints/concerns
- Developing, implementing, training and delivering special events programing such as the Dynamic Earth annual Halloween event
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in geology, earth science, mining, space, or chemistry with 2-4 years related experience is required
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and delivering training with programs or workshops
- Demonstrated experience mentoring/guiding staff
- Fluency in English required. Fluency in French will be considered an asset
**Keys to Success**:
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative engaging visitor experience programming that supports current science learning in the earth sciences and mining fields
- Ability to interact with members of the general public, partners and staff at all levels
- Dynamic presentation skills with an ability to engage audiences
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Broad experience and solid understanding of employee/leadership development
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to multi-task and adjust quickly to changing priorities or organizational needs
**Compensation Highlights**:
- Full-time permanent opportunity
- Competitive salary range $47,300 to $56,000 per year, based on experience
