**Position**:Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
General Description:
This position is responsible for the safe maintenance, certification, and repair of all vehicles and equipment owned by SSE as directed by the Service Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform regular maintenance and repairs for the entire fleet of vehicles (trucks, cranes, man lifts, forklifts, vans, pickup trucks, tilt & load) and equipment (mobile welders)
- Repair electrical equipment on machinery
- Maintain small tools
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
- Ensure all tools, vehicles, equipment, and property is secure from damage and theft
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
- Perform service calls, onsite repairs, and fuel equipment
- Perform annual mechanical safeties on all equipment adhering to all federal and provincial legislation
- remote working conditions, including onsite / camp shift rotations.
- specializing in Ariel work platforms and class 7 telescopic forklifts

Qualifications:

- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - 4 years (preferred)
- Must know about: Fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, vehicle brake systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical/electronic systems and fluent in interpreting schematics for diagnosing purposes
- Valid G Licence - Provide a Driving Abstract
- Physically demanding, attention to detail, manual dexterity, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination
- Excellent oral communication, judgment, dependability, reliability, team player, and accurate
- Experience as an automotive mechanic, industrial mechanic, welding, truck technician, trailer technician
- Must have your own tools
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Experience system troubleshooting
- Willing to work overtime
- Must be able to work unsupervised

**Salary**: $40 - $50 per hour based on experience
