Shipper/receiver/forklift Operator

**Position Summary**

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for warehousing, inventory control and shipping receiving of product for all on and off-site warehouse and storage facilities.

**Responsibilities**:
**Shipping & Receiving**:

- Performs professional shipping, receiving and inventory control.
- Provides exceptional customer service for both internal and external clients.
- Utilizes warehouse management expertise to establish a strategy for continuous improvement in warehouse and inventory management.
- Receives all product in safe condition and store in an organized manner; check received packages with packing slips and maintain accurate records.
- Receives equipment, supplies and materials.
- Prepares documentation and packaging for shipping out of items such as returns, samples, items for repair, and communicates with the appropriate personnel.
- Operates power and manual equipment as required.
- Performs regular inventory counts/audits.
- Cleans and organizes the warehouse and maintain safe work practices by upholding a clean work environment.
- Provides training overview of warehouse for new employees.

**Storage Management**:

- Maintains all storage areas by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements.
- Accurately and timely captures and records all on-site inventory.
- Performs audits of product lists provided by off-site storage facilities.
- Performs audits of active orders on receiving lists (on and off-site storage facilities).

**Logistics & Scheduling**:

- Assists with product location (including product located in warehouse and/or and off-site storage facilities and product in transit).
- Coordinates and schedules delivery times/days with carriers for incoming shipments.
- Tracks shipments.
- Checks partial orders for shipping dates.
- Assists Installers to ensure all necessary product is present and confirms product location.

**General Maintenance**:

- Conducts final security sweep and activates building alarm systems at close of business day, as assigned.
- Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshoot breakdowns, schedule preventative maintenance and repairs; ensure warehouse equipment has maintenance regiment.
- Schedules repairs for dock plates and warehouse doors as required.
- Performs facilities maintenance, as required, including lighting, batteries, flags, alarm coding, etc.
- Orders supplies warehouse and building supplies as needed.
- Identifies and recommends continuous improvement in all aspects of warehousing to achieve improvements in customer service and satisfaction, project success, process reliability, safety, cost improvement, and culture support.
- Maintains all required safety and regulatory courses
- Completes other duties as assigned/as required.
- Position is based on a 40-hour work week; however, incumbent may be required to work outside of regular hours to meet business requirements.
- Subject to Manager pre-approval, position is eligible for overtime compensation.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to provide clean drivers abstract. (Class 3 driver's license an asset)
- Ability to provide criminal record check upon hiring.
- 3 to 6 years’ progressive experience in a fast-paced warehouse, logistics, operations, or manufacturing environment.
- Certification and experience with the operation of powered industrial vehicles and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack) for lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, handling, or transporting loads.
- Standard First Aid Certification (Shipper/Receiver is the designated Fire Warden for the Warehouse).
- Proficient in use of Khameleon or equivalent order-management system and MS Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results.
- Attentiveness to details with ability to self-audit and manage a diverse workload within a fast-paced environment with changing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently with mínimal supervision.
