What You Will Do:

In this unionized position of Technician, Distribution Operations, you will play an essential role within our Operations Team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Efficiently operating and maintaining natural gas pipeline systems;
  • Ensuring all required documentation is completed on time as required by regulations;
  • Responding to natural gas related emergencies;
  • Performing construction tasks as per policies and procedures; and
  • Representing the Company to customers and the public.

What You Will Bring:

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Gas Utilities Operator course;
  • Three years in a related field, of which one year involves performing the operations functions of a natural gas utility;
  • Valid Province of Alberta Class 5 driver's license;
  • A clean driver's abstract is also required for this position; and
  • Ability to perform all necessary physical requirements

Note: The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 minutes driving time from our Leduc District Office to respond to natural gas related emergencies.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity when using tools, equipment, and instruments;
  • Good communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic;
  • Ability to establish good working relationships and provide excellent customer service;
  • Proficiency working with various computer software systems including Microsoft Office suite;
  • Good judgment and maintain motivation and performance when working independently and;
  • Safe work habits and adherence to safety regulation.
