Site Superintendent

Multiple Project Types

Edmonton and surrounding areas

Willingness to travel for work will be a huge asset. We are building in many towns, cities and regions in Western Canada, and we are looking for an experienced, organized Superintendent that can successfully take on multiple projects with different scopes of work.
- Efficient management of all site activity including trades, suppliers, consultants, city inspectors, own forces and owners.
- Scheduling of all site activity and trades working on project sites.
- Identify issues and conflicts in drawings, form RFI’s in the field and answer/solve problems before delays are experienced.
- Prepare in advance for work on site by procuring materials in advance of the scheduled work activity.
- Maintain safety records and ensure compliance to JAX Builders Safety program by all site staff and subtrades.
- Work alongside the Project Manager and Project Coordinator to deliver projects on time, on budget and safely.
- Complete daily logs and site meetings and ensure records are kept and submitted to the office in a timely manner.
- Complete daily sign in sheets, daily logs and look ahead schedules.
- Obtain building occupancy and pass all project progress inspections by the jurisdiction’s inspection department. A strong knowledge of Alberta and Canada building code is a must.
- Work alongside the Project Coordinator and provide information for PO’s, Subcontracts and Site Instructions can be issued in a timely manner.
- Carpentry and Labour skills will be required. JAX Builders typically hires “working site superintendents” as our projects will often require the Superintendent to pickup the tools and help move a project along. Door hardware, backing, furniture package installs, minor framing and some light demolition are common tasks that our Site Superintendents would be expected to take on and help out with.

**Credentials, Courses & Education**
- First Aid Certificate with CPR
- 3-5 years of construction experience is preferred.
- Carpentry Trade Certification or Technical Diploma in Construction
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course & Working From Heights
- Leadership for safety excellence course, not mandatory but is an asset
- 5 years of construction experience is preferred.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Experience with Ground Up Construction and CRU Builds would be an asset.

**Transportation/Travel Information**
- Willing to travel regularly
- Valid driver's licence with relatively clean drivers abstract.

**Ability to Supervise**
- Groups of Subcontractors
- 5-20 people

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- construction: 1 year (preferred)
