Strickland Reading Clinics is an established provider of tutoring in reading and writing. We specialize in the Orton-Gillingham method, a multisensory approach to remediating dyslexia. Most of our students attend private or public elementary schools.

**Job Details**

Strickland is currently looking for part-time tutors with previous tutoring or teaching experience. If you love working with elementary age students and possess superior teaching skills, then we want to hear from you

Training in the Orton-Gillingham (O-G) method will be provided to qualified individuals and is generally offered one evening per week for 10 weeks online.

Tutors in O-G are highly specialized, and we pay individuals successfully completing O-G training a starting rate of $35/hour per scheduled hour including preparation time.

The clinic is located near Chester subway station, and all tutoring takes place at the clinic. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 7 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. We carefully match tutors to incoming students, and many of our tutors have multi-year relationships with their assigned students.

The typical tutoring workload is 4 to 8 hours per week, and we work with tutors to assign tutoring hours which fit their schedule.

**Qualifications/Requirement**s
- University/College student or graduate with strong academic record (B Ed. OCT beneficial, but not necessary)
- Previous tutoring and/or teaching experience (with elementary students preferred)
- Minimum of 4 hours and 2 days availability per week during the school year
- Excellent written and oral fluency in English
- Professional, organized and reliable
- Patient and creative
- Great interpersonal skills
- Resident of the GTA
