An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a **Safety Services Technician** in our **Surrey** branch.

Fire Suppression (Extinguishers/Vehicle Suppression Systems)
Fall Protection (Self Retracting Lifelines/Harness and Lanyards)
Breathing Air (SCBA/Compressors/ Hydro Testing)
Instrumentation (Gas Detection)
Mechanical Repairs (Hoisting/Industrial Equipment/Torque Wrenches)
As one of our service technicians, you will use your positive attitude and strong work ethic to complete the following duties:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Follows all proper safety practices and ensures compliance of regulatory requirements.
- Actively supports the Company's quality process to achieve total satisfaction of customer's requirements as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Assists in repairs to all equipment requiring service from the customer.
- Learns proper procedure to contact customers on repairs that require estimates.
- Learns how to properly organize and maintain inventory, keeping an adequate level of replacement parts on hand and advise supervisor of upcoming inventory requirements.
- Learns procedure on maintaining records of all repairs received in-progress work and completed work.
- Picks up and delivers repairs to the customer facility when necessary.
- Learns procedure on preparing all work orders relating to a repair job, including repair time and submits this information into the system.
- Interacts with customers and promotes positive customer relations.
- Assists in maintaining and promoting a safe working environment for all Vallen associates.
- Responsible for repairs to all equipment requiring service from the customer.
- Contacts customer on repairs that require estimates.
- Maintain records of all repairs received in-progress work and completed work.
- Picks up and delivers repairs to the customer facility when necessary.
- Prepares all work orders relating to a repair job, including repair time and submits this information into the system.
- Ensures that all rental, demo and service centre equipment is in good working condition.
- Demonstrates high ethical standards, attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed work procedures.
- Strives for continuous improvement by offering suggestions that could improve the process, procedures or safety.
- Provides branch reports/information to management as requested.
- Continues to obtain manufacturing certificates as required.
- Conduct other duties and project work as assigned.
- Read, understand, and follow Vallen’s health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations
- Actively participate in Vallen’s health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections
- Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses
- Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements
- Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks
- Other duties as required.
**Required Qualifications**:
- High School Diploma
- Basic understanding of hand tools.
- Ongoing training necessary on equipment to be repaired and serviced.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, standing, visual attention.
