**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Director
- Research, Development and Technology Transfer (DRDT), the Associate Director RDT (ADRDT) manages the daily activities of the Kentville Research and Development Centre (KRDC) in accordance with the mandate of AAFC and to achieve the outcomes detailed in the AAFC Strategic Plan for Science; manages scientists and other science professionals and support staff; develops and implements the Centre’s annual operational plans (e.g., human resources, regulatory (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety), financial, science infrastructure and equipment, communications, etc.); builds and maintains local, regional and national partnerships and potential collaborations; contributes to knowledge and technology transfer activities of research outcomes; and contributes to the career development for staff.

Education
Graduation with an acceptable doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field of the natural sciences related to the duties of the position, or an acceptable master’s degree coupled with acceptable research, training and experience. The degree must be from a recognized post-secondary institution and in scientific fields and specialties related to the duties of the position. The training and experience must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform research of doctoral degree caliber.

- Experience in leading or managing science-based activities.
