Real Estate Law Clerk

**Overview**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Law Clerk to support our legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to assist our growing real estate law firm with residential closings (purchases, sales, and refinances).
**Responsibilities**
- **End-to-End File Management**: Independently manage residential real estate files (Purchases, Sales, and Refinances) from opening to closing with mínimal supervision.
- **Title & Off-Title Searching**: Conduct and review title searches via Teraview; perform off-title searches (tax certificates, zoning, compliance) and resolve any title issues or requisitions.
- **Lender Coordination**: Review and act upon mortgage instructions from major banks and private lenders, ensuring all funding conditions are met prior to closing.
- **Financial Administration**: Prepare Statements of Adjustments and Trust Ledger Statements; calculate Land Transfer Tax and organize funds for closing.
- **Client & Stakeholder Communication**: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, real estate agents, opposing counsel, and financial institutions, maintaining a professional and responsive demeanor.
- **Registration**: oversee the registration of documents in the Electronic Land Registration System (ELRS).
- **Reporting**: Prepare final reporting letters to clients and lenders in a timely manner post-closing.
- **Calendar Management**: strictly monitor critical dates, closing deadlines, and requisition periods to ensure no deadlines are missed.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in residential real estate closings.
- **Education**: Completion of a Law Clerk diploma, ILCO certification, or equivalent legal education.
- Advanced proficiency with **Teraview** is mandatory.
- Experience with real estate conveyancing software (such as **Unity** or **LDD**) is required.
- Familiarity with practice management software (e.g., **Clio**) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat).
- **Communication Skills**: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
