Objective
The Construction Equipment (LCE/HCE/Aerial) Repair Technician is responsible for the completion of the inspection, testing and diagnosing of electrical/hydraulic construction equipment for repair. This role ensures all repairs produce consistent and reliable products. The HLA Repair Tech provides guidance and leadership to the Service Technicians. Completes all work orders and related paperwork with respect to the repair of construction and aerial equipment to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.

Smaller stores may require a broader range of activities to be handled so other duties that are not listed may be required.
Key Accountabilities
- Diagnoses and repairs all of Stephenson’s construction and aerial equipment as it relates to various diesel, hydraulic and electrical equipment, including Skid Steers, Mini Excavators, Aerial Reach Equipment and towable equipment.
- Ensures that all equipment is rental-ready and meets set quality and safety standards.
- Follows the appropriate checklist and procedures. Can read and refer to owner’s manuals and schematics.
- Operates and tests equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
- Diagnoses and provides guidance to Service Technicians on the appropriate service/repairs required.
- Assists in making decisions related to equipment retirement.
- Possesses excellent product knowledge, including features and benefits, and safe operating techniques.
- Ensure that every customer is treated in the same fair and consistent manner and resolving issues as they arise.
- Follows all paperwork and computer procedures related to servicing of equipment.
- Maintains all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.
**Qualifications**:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Heavy equipment trades certification is an asset
- Minimum 3 years of Heavy Equipment repair or related experience.
- G Class Provincial Driver’s License and clean Drivers Abstract (preferred).
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Experience with Health and Safety training is an asset (i.e. WHMIS, etc.).
- Action-oriented with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.

Working Environment and Demands
- The job is performed in a shop setting.
- Role requires daily lifting and movement of equipment weighing up to 50lbs to both service equipment and to load equipment into customer vehicles when required.
- Regular exposure to uncomfortable, challenging, or hazardous conditions, such as noise in the shop environment.
- Hourly job based on 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional requirement to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization. This job has a requirement to be on-call seasonally.
- 70%-90% of time standing, bending, kneeling to repair equipment.
