**POSTION SUMMARY**:
The Town is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to join its administrative team. The Administrative Assistant is a front-line position that provides customer service to the public as well as daily support to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Director of Corporate Services and Town Council.
**RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Administrative Office Professional Certificate or equivalent
- Must have experience with computers and knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
- Must work well with the public in person, by telephone or by mail
- Basic accounting skill and post-secondary administrative training an asset
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Knowledge and experience in website maintenance and development, internet, municipal software, multi-media and related software, computer desktop software and techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, representatives of other agencies and public
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to take and transcribe minutes of meetings
- Attention to detail, good communication skills, ability to work without close supervision
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Customer Service**_
- Serve at reception counter, greeting customers and visitors, making referrals to appropriate individuals or businesses in town
- Switchboard
- Processing complaints by phone, front counter, letter and forwarding to appropriate department
- Development and creation of brochures, presentations, reports, etc.
- In house publications: newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
- Obtain promotional materials and community events information for general inquires
- **Council**_
- Coordinate meetings/special events for Council and Administration
- Assist with preparation of agendas for Council and Committee meetings
- Assist with preparation of Council Calendar
- Required to record minutes of Council and Committee meetings and other meetings outside of regular business hours
- Maintain electronic files of minutes and resolution listings
- Maintain minute books
- Prepare presentations/reports as directed for Council/Public review
- General correspondence for CAO and Council
- Identify sources for and conducts basic research, on a variety of topical information and data area, including internet research, for Council and CAO
- Process program, course, conference registration for Council, management and other staff
- Prepare articles for newspapers and newsletters for administration, Council and department managers
- Draft bylaws and policies for the Town

- Performance of duties of similar complexity as assigned from time to time by the Director of Corporate Services or CAO.
- Assume the daily duties of the Municipal Clerk in their absence and as needed
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.04 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
