**The Role**:
We are currently searching for a **Manager, Facilities & Projects** reporting to the Director, Real Estate & Construction. This is a **Temporary, Full-Time Contract** opportunity for 12 months. The Manager, Facilities and Projects will lead a teams of Consultants, Contractors, and Internal Teams to design, construct, renovate and maintain our Retail and Distribution locations throughout Ontario and our Distribution facilities across Canada.
**Location**:
Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer Remote/Hybrid Flex work with visits into the office on an as-needed basis, depending on the role and function. This role requires approximately 40% travel within the Province.
**What You'll Be Doing**:
- Regularly review and assess standard specifications, explore energy saving programs, and associated cost savings or incentives.
- Coordinate and liaise between outside consulting groups and internal departments with respect to the timing and completion of new construction and renovation projects. Conduct Project Status meetings regularly with internal stake holders.
- Manage the interior fit-up construction to the Beer Store’s specifications and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, deficiency inspections and project closeouts for each project. Complete timely follow-up inspections following taking possession for new construction and major capital/renovation projects to review any warranty claims.
- Be fiscally responsible for each project budget and demonstrate a strong command and understanding of the project financials and investigate and flag issues when they arise.
- Facilitate the design and implementation of new concepts as required. This involves researching with designers, vendors, and consultants, as well as relevant Beer Store internal departments to achieve the desired end-result.
- Respond and action repairs promptly and ensure repairs are being completed in accordance with our obligations under the lease.
- Oversee, schedule, and track all contracts and routine maintenance relating to the day-to-day operation of the Distribution and Corporate Office building including HVAC/Extractors Maintenance, GSI (Sprinkler), Landscaping, Cleaners.
- Contract negotiations, work with our consultants in the preparation of tender documents, tender review, and contractor recommendation for awarding.
- Manage all capital repairs and renovation projects to ensure that they are being completed on time, on budget and in accordance with the scope of work and responsibility.
- Other related projects and duties as assigned.
**Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Engineering, Building Science, Facilities, or related area required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) designation would be considered an asset
**Experience**:
- Minimum 7-10 years experience in Construction, Facilities or Project Management
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction best practices, industry standard procedures, materials, and methods
- Thorough understanding of applicable legislation and regulations, including the Building Code Act, Construction Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
**Skills**:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong time management skills, comfortable managing multiple ongoing projects and priorities
- Strong understanding of building drawings and specifications with the ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities on projects
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is considered an asset
