As a Counter Sales Representative, you will be the face of our company, assisting contractors and builders with their lumber and building material needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service while efficiently processing orders and transactions at the sales counter. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Greet customers promptly and assist them in selecting the right products for their projects.
- Provide accurate product information, including pricing, availability, and specifications.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to fulfill orders and ensure timely delivery or pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the sales counter and surrounding areas.
- Keep up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to better serve customers.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock replenishment and cycle counts.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Actively promote special promotions, discounts, and sales initiatives to drive revenue growth.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in a lumber yard or building materials store.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of lumber and building materials is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or customer service is advantageous.

**Salary**: $16.75-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
