**The Hiring Location**:
Allendale Pharmacy is the newest addition to the Mint Health+Drugs Pharmily operating as a neighbour to the C-Endo Health Clinic.

**We are currently hiring for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant, approximately 20 hours per week. We are flexible with the schedule.**

**This position has potential to turn into full-time in the fall.**

**Pharmacy Hours**:Mon-Wed: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Thurs 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.Fri: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Sat: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

**Purpose of the position**:
The position of Pharmacy Assistant is vital to Mint Health + Drugs’ mission to help people feel better. The Pharmacy Assistant greets patients at the dispensary and is the first line of contact for the patients. The Pharmacy Assistant will help the pharmacist prepare drug orders and ensure excellent customer service is delivered when interacting with patients and clients and thereby maintaining or enhancing Mint’s reputation as both a pharmacy provider and a community based service entity.

**Skills**
- Good communication skills when talking with patients / physicians
- Prioritize workflow demands
- Attention to detail and be able to multitask (go from the till, to prescription intake, to blister packing (mínimal blister packing at first) etc.)
- The pharmacy is mainly performing clinical services
- Takes initiative
- Excellent phone manner, speaks clearly and professionally

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with putting patients into counselling rooms
- Answer telephones to screen calls for the pharmacist and respond to requests where appropriate.
- Inputting prescriptions
- Counting medications
- Blister packaging
- Check all DINs and ensure medication matches label
- Check for expired medications and share information with pharmacist
- Accept a new written prescription or a request for a prescription refill from the patient or patient's agent.
- Create and maintain computerized patient records.
- Filing, scanning, organizing

**Education and Experience**:

- High school graduate or college program graduate, preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
- Experience with Kroll system
- Experience blister packing
- Community Pharmacy experience
