**PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE** Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preference is required. **DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** - Actively seek out and offer a friendly greeting throughout the Design Gallery - Represent the Home Design Gallery in a presentable and professional way - Assist retail customers with questions on product information, specifications, and availability in-person and on the telephone - Support customers with the comparison and ordering of products where necessary - Perform housekeeping duties throughout the department and general area - Review, validate, and update product pricing where necessary - Treat all employees with respect - Move around furniture, with guidance from Design Gallery Team - Participate in regular cycle counting, and assist in taking annual inventory counts, when needed - Create a memorable and informative experience for the customer - Be accessible to colleagues for questions and guidance where necessary - Support and contribute to an environment that encourages high employee productivity and morale - Maintain safety training certifications annually or as advised - Set a good example by always following company policies and procedures - Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by GHHBC - Participate and represent store in local community events - Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. - Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management - Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by the Management team and General Manager. **EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED** - 1-2 years of prior Design/Decorating, Interior Design/Decorating, or industry related experience is beneficial - Prior Furniture, Appliance or Décor sales experience is beneficial - Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace - Able to lift 30-50 pounds unassisted - Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays - Ability to understand computer software programs which support the role - Excellent communication skills - Excellent time management and organization skills and practices - A ‘can-do’ attitude with a desire and willingness to learn is an asset - Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base with company support - Willingness to participate in seminars, webinars, training sessions and meetings to expand knowledge and skillset - Ability to work cooperatively in team atmosphere **WORKING RELATIONSHIPS** - Reports directly to Design Gallery Manager > General Manager > Owners. **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: From $16.55 per hour Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week **Benefits**: - Company events - On-site parking - Store discount **Experience**: - design: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
