We are looking for a bright, motivated team player to join us, and fill the role of Drafting Detailer.

**Description of Role**

A Drafting Detailer is part of the design and project team. Involved in project discussions, generating shop drawings, communicating with structural engineers, procuring materials, and providing clarification to the fabrication foreperson, the Drafting Detailer has endless opportunities for continued learning and advancement. The Drafting Detailer works primarily under the direction of the Project Manager in the preparation of shop drawings.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

As a Drafting Detailer your duties will include:

- Reading and understanding Tender Documents, Contract Drawings, Specifications, and Addendums
- Generate shop drawings while communicating with professional engineers and senior project managers
- Procure job related materials
- Coordinate job related sub-contracts
- Support shop foreman during fabrication
- Taking direction from the Senior Estimator

**Qualifications and Skills**
- A positive, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn and share new ideas
- Organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task and manage time efficiently
- A good foundational knowledge of steel, metal fabrication, structural steel assembly, installation, and welding
- Must be educated and proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word and Adobe
- Have experience with SolidWorks
- Have a post-secondary education in Drafting, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering
- Have experience in the steel industry and or in a similar role

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
