As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Office Supervisor you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of professionals. The Financial Coordinator will provide accounting and clerical support for expenditure control of financial data for the Branch, as well as financial tracking throughout the fiscal year. This position also acts as a backup for the Operations & Maintenance Service Coordinator of the Branch and reports to the Office Supervisor.

**What You’ll Do**:
**You’ll act with integrity to**:
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in a non-partisan support role
- Exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgment in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment when dealing with MPPs, staff of the Legislative Assembly, the general public, and other external clients
**You’ll support our collaboration as you**:
- Coordinate, process, code, and track all branch invoices related to the budgets for capital projects, operations & maintenance, and office administration. Ensure invoices are assigned to the appropriate service categories and correspond to purchase orders and contract agreements.
- Produce monthly or as requested reports summarizing the Branch’s overall budget details, prepare financial analyses and ad hoc audits
- Maintain records of expenditures related to all capital projects and maintenance contracts
- Liaise with Finance regarding invoicing and processing payments. Reconcile billings with commitments and month-end financial reports, recoveries, and outstanding payments. Analyze financial information to rectify discrepancies, complete journal entries, and answer queries.
- Conduct monthly budget status meetings with the Branch to review and ensure the accuracy of financial reports and to discuss expenditures and discrepancies
- Participate in the annual budgeting process and forecast initiatives. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial processes, policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Provide back-up support for the Operations & Maintenance Service Coordinator. Answering calls, logging, and creating work orders to be assigned to the appropriate staff.
- Establish and maintain organized manual and electronic filing systems
- Perform other related activities and assist with projects as required. Keeps up to date on related skill development in order to use any new technologies or processes as required
**How You Qualify**:
**You demonstrate excellence through your**:
- Position requires the completion of post-secondary education in an applicable field and with up to 5 years of related work experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of office management and accounting processes
- Position requires in-depth knowledge of the budget process and financial practices to monitor a multi-million dollar budget; experience within building construction and/or operations and maintenance would be an asset
- Excellent keyboarding skills to maintain the financial, tracking, and reporting system, pertaining to administrative, projects and Memorandum of Understanding, as well as input a variety of financial data.
- Flexibility as a team player and strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to take initiative and manage a high degree of responsibility
