**The Role**:
SV Law has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer within our busy Municipal Law Practice Group. You will be exposed to a broad range of matters, including municipal governance, land use planning, expropriation, municipal elections, municipal finance, building permit disputes, zoning and by-law compliance matters, and heritage matters. You will be responsible for:

- meeting and communicating with clients;
- conducting and reviewing legal research;
- drafting and reviewing documents, including correspondence, legal opinions, pleadings, briefs, facta, affidavits, etc.;
- conducting or assisting in conducting hearings before the Ontario Land Tribunal or other related provincial Tribunals, as well as Superior Court;
- providing legal advice to Municipal Councils and private clients.

We offer robust mentorship and training opportunities, and you will have the opportunity to build your own Municipal Law practice with the ability to specialize being available.

**What You Bring**:
We are seeking a driven and talented lawyer with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our Municipal Law Practice Group at our Guelph location and who:

- is a member of the Ontario Bar in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario;
- has the ability to effectively manage a high volume of work, is self-motivated and entrepreneurial;
- has excellent research, drafting and negotiation skills, and is detail-oriented;
- is eager to take the lead on files as the opportunity arises;
- is team-oriented and collaborative; and
- has an enthusiastic and responsive approach to client requirements with excellent people skills.

**Salary**: From $94,000.00 per year
