**Position Summary**
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of the company’s day-to-day operations in the general contracting and construction sector. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The General Manager oversees all business functions, including operations, project management, estimating, business development, client relations, financial performance, and staff leadership.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Leadership & Management**
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to all company departments and staff.
- Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of project managers, estimators, site supervisors, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, integrity, and collaboration throughout the organization.
**Operational Oversight**
- Oversee all aspects of construction operations, from pre-construction to project closeout.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
- Monitor project performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Enforce compliance with safety standards, building codes, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
**Financial Management**
- Manage company budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Review and approve project bids, estimates, and contracts to ensure profitability.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and billing to maximize margins and minimize risk.
**Business Development & Client Relations**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the development of proposals and bids.
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
**Strategic Planning**
- Develop and execute long-term business strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify market trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure competitive positioning.
- Drive innovation in construction methods, technology, and project delivery.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction or general contracting, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and contract administration.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, financial performance, and business growth.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and drive repeat business.
Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
