**Position Summary**:
The Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Manager is responsible for providing leadership and is accountable for the daily operation of the assigned portfolio.
The Manager fosters team building, collaboration and shared learning while ensuring excellence in the provision of services and quality patient care. The manager will work to lead the team in a positive atmosphere and ensure that services are provided in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring compliance with corporate, legislative, professional practice and departmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrating excellence in effective communication, the manager is responsible for communicating and disseminating information to staff, the Director, Diagnostic Imaging Chief and Medical Director and Radiologists in a timely and consistent manner. The manager must be able to effectively manage day to day challenges independently, recognizing the need to escalate appropriately.
Creating a safe environment for staff and patients is essential to GGH. The DI manager will support the implementation of safe practices and look to reduce risk across the portfolio.
The manager will liaise and build positive relationships with programs and partners within GGH, the Waterloo-Wellington Region as well as OHT West as required.
In consultation with the Director, the manager is responsible for: the planning and preparation of the annual operating plan and budget as well as the management of human, financial and capital resources specific to portfolio ensuring the departments operate in a manner that is efficient, effective and fiscally responsible. The manager is also responsible for assisting with the development of strategic priorities for GGH diagnostic imaging services that are aligned with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the Guelph General Hospital.

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities**:
- Successful performance of this position requires consistent demonstration of the following behaviours and performance standards.
- Minimum 6 years in progressive responsible, and management roles in Diagnostic Imaging Services
- Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality management, change management, evaluation, planning and utilization
- Broad knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging modality activities
- Demonstrated experience in the quality management
- Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve problems creatively
- Proven ability to critically analyze issues, conceptualize and implement solutions
- Track record of achieving results that improve processes/services and inspire confidence and commitment.
- Systems lateral thinking; can work well across modalities, clinical departments and regionally
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with a strong knowledge of communication media, its uses and impact; understands how to achieve consistency by standardizing material such as manuals, orientation, training material etc.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities
- Excellent leadership skills; can engage and empower others to work towards a common goal
- Well-developed negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills
- Self-directed, highly motivated and capable of handling multiple priorities and demanding timelines
