Reporting to the Project Manager, the Mechanical/Electrical Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Site Superintendent on multiple projects. They will coordinate activities required in the pre-construction, construction, and start-up of all building systems, including but not limited to temporary services, site services, mechanical, piping, HVAC, and electrical systems.

This position is based in at an Industrial Plant site near Ft. Saskatchewan (30min north of Edmonton)

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers, and Subcontractors
- Assist with preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule
- Oversee design progression and provide constructability input
- Review and process shop drawings
- Coordination of material and equipment needs
- Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking
- Prepare cost estimates for change order and audit purposes
- Price site instructions, work orders and change notices
- Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations
- Provide document turnover to client at completion of project
- Trouble-shoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Provide other technical office support as required by operations personnel
- Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports
- Participate in on-site safety meetings and be a leader of initiatives

What we are looking for
- Proficiency in Heating, Ventilation, and Air-conditioning systems (HVAC)
- Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic would be an asset
- Electrical and Controls knowledge would be an asset
- Industrial Experience is preferred
- Design Coordination experience is an asset
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management or related field
- 10 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical construction and maintenance
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices
- Knowledge of commercial construction practices and techniques and industry regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated success in providing value via constructability reviews, identified cost savings, market sensitivity and innovation
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
