Join CAMH’s dynamic Youth-VAST - the **Youth Vaping, Alcohol, Substance Use, and Technology Dependence Program**, supporting youth aged 12-21 across Ontario with early intervention and brief treatment services for nicotine, substance, alcohol, and technology-related dependencies. As a Youth Care Coach, you will play a vital role in youth engagement, intake assessment, case management, and care navigation within a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
Youth-VAST supports an integrated clinical collaboration model across the INTREPID Lab (A leading hub for smoking and vaping treatment, research & education); the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Programs, and the Acute Care Addictions Program.
**Position Description**:
Youth-VAST is currently seeking a full-time, contract (till August 31, 2026) Case Worker (Child & Youth Worker) to support the Youth-VAST Central Intake Hub. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of a provincial program that supports youth ages 12-21 and their caregivers through early engagement, motivation-building, and service navigation. The Case Worker functions as both an intake worker and case manager, providing guidance to youth and/or their caregivers along their path to wellness. The program serves youth experiencing moderate dependencies related to vaping, alcohol, substances, or technology (VAST), who may be anywhere from pre-contemplative to highly motivated for change. Services are delivered both virtually and in-person to accommodate youth and families across the province. Reporting to the Manager of the Youth-VAST Vaping and Nicotine Dependence Clinic, the Case Worker fosters connection and motivation at the earliest points of contact. They engage youth and caregivers to explore their goals, assess motivation for change, and provide brief interventions to build readiness. Individual or group support will be offered, depending on client needs. Evening and weekend hours may be required. This position is located at CAMH’s 1025 Queen Street West site
**Responsibilities**:
The Case Worker remains involved throughout the youth’s brief treatment journey to ensure smooth transitions and discharge planning. As part of an inter-professional team, the Caser Worker:
- Completes intake assessments and triage discussions to identify care pathways.
- Delivers brief interventions to support motivation, readiness, and harm reduction.
- Provides individual and group support to youth and caregivers.
- Offers short-term case management and basic crisis intervention.
- Coordinates with CAMH teams, school boards, hospitals, and community organizations.
- Supports data collection, quality improvement, research, and student mentorship.
- And completes other duties as assigned.
