**Responsibilities**:

- Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining the required pace for the job
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour and use of hands and tools
- Maintain and clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in Asphalt Raking supporting the Paving Crews is required
- Minimum 1 years of labourer experience assisting crews and operating construction equipment is required
- Knowledge of the safe operation of associated tools and municipal road building industry is required
- Willingness and ability to perform strenuous physical work for prolonged periods of time and weekends often under pressure is required
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract
- High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions is required
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision is highly desirable
- Valid safety certifications are required

**Additional Information**:

- This is a seasonal position and starts in spring of every year
- This position is eligible for over-time
- Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required
- Training will be provided for various activities
- We offer excellent wages and benefits eligibility after 3 months in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off season)
- Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
