Under general supervision, the _**Water Truck Operator**_is responsible for safe operation of water trucks for the purpose of watering landscaping and trees. This position requires precision equipment operation in public areas. The Water Truck Operator is responsible for keeping landscape materials alive during periods of growth, establishment and stress in cycled schedules. The position requires staying motivated while working alone and maintaining impeccable records.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Effective communication with the public
- Ability to complete weekly watering cycles in a timely organized manner
- Skills to maneuver through tight spaces and public pathways
- Read and understand maps and instructions
- Ensure proper PPE is always worn
- Clean up and report spills as required
- Daily equipment operation, maintenance, calibration and general upkeep
- Pre and Post inspection of all equipment is carried out
- Report equipment issues as soon as noted
- Ensure load securement as per regulation
- Be familiar with all Emergency Response Plans (ERP)
- Carry out ongoing Field Level Hazard Assessments daily or as situations change
- Follow all Traffic Accommodation Plans as required
- Keeping plant material watered as per cycles
- Reporting plant health as required
- All other duties as assigned

**Qualifications & Educational Requirements**
- 18 years of age with a Grade 12 education or higher
- Current class 5 driver’s license
- Water truck experience an asset but can train
- Emergency First Aid Certificate or comparable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs or 23 kg
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required

**Preferred Skills**
- Perform a variety of tasks
- Work in inclement weather
- Knowledge of plant material

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4-6 months

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Okotoks, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: In person
