**Job Purpose**
- With a national scope of work, the Market Access Lead reports directly to the Director, Market Access and Payer Solutions.
- The Market Access Lead will be responsible for the development and implementation of the local Canadian Market Access Strategy across the entire product lifecycle to secure timely product listings and maintain patient access for the assigned therapeutic area.
- The role will be responsible for Hepatology, Established Brands and Innovative Pipeline.

**Key Responsibilities**
- As a **player coach** leading a team of market access strategists, you are accountable for securing market access for in-line products while providing strategic assessment and direction for pipeline assets.
- Oversee, **develop and execute access strategies and tactics** to optimize public and private reimbursement (time to listing, breadth of coverage) for assigned therapeutic area.
- Partner effectively with other Government and Market Access functions (Pricing, External Affairs and Policy) and Health Economics and Outcomes Research Teams integrate multiple components (such as pricing, real world evidence generation, health economic data, budget impact analyses, stakeholder engagement, negotiations, policy etc.) into the HTA and pCPA negotiation strategies to deliver timely access for patients.
- Oversee **preliminary market access assessments for portfolio pipeline** products to optimize future listings.
- Oversee the **development of reimbursement / MA dossiers** for all payers (public and private) to deliver best in class submissions to national HTA bodies (CDA, INESSS), provincial and private formularies. These submissions will clearly demonstrate value of our products to Canadian payers, through evidence generation, interpretation and communication.
- Partner with the Global Market Access teams to influence and proactively ensure that **Canadian market access needs are incorporated into portfolio strategies**.
- Lead development and execution of pCPA negotiation strategies for assigned therapeutic area and partner with the External Affairs team to secure Product Listing Agreements and on funding implementation.
- Oversee and lead Market Access input into commercial brand planning.
- Effectively partner cross-functionally to gain insights and drive implementation of Market Access strategies.

**Basic Qualifications**
- University degree - Business / Health Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health Policy, or equivalent.
- 10+ year’s pharmaceutical/biotech experience (Market Access, Pricing, Sales, Brand Marketing, etc.)
- 7+ years of market access experience within the Oncology / Specialty Pharma / Biotech sector.
- 2+ years of people leadership coaching, driving performance and delivering objectives through others.
- Demonstrated experience with the formulation of clear and compelling value propositions and demonstrated success navigating the pricing and reimbursement environment in Canada.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system. Knowledge of key trends, issues, opportunities, and stakeholder/payors priorities.
- Experienced influencing cross-functional stakeholders (including leaders), both internally and externally with differing viewpoints.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to formulate, develop and execute complex strategy while balancing short
- and long-term goals.
- Proven ability to understand business strategy and to translate it into market access strategies that support the company’s business goals.
- Solid inter-personal skills (authentic, trust builder), with the ability to collaboratively lead cross functional teams and achieve results through others while setting ambitious objectives and having the courage to have difficult constructive conversations (debate)
