Academic Coordinator

Oxford College is seeking an **Academic Coordinator for its Scarborough Campus** to fill a multi-faceted role with responsibility for the day to day delivery of quality education and academic counseling and support to students in accordance with Oxford College academic policies and procedures. Your main purpose will be to assist in the academic management of all programs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive academic support program.
- Provide guidance to students on academic goals and educational issues.
- Consult with instructors and staff related to students of concern and develop strategies to assist individuals to manage difficult student situations.
- Advise students in resolving problems related to academic crises and coordinate case management efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely and accurate reports related to educational programs and services in accordance with prescribed timeframes.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement in programs and services by promoting the pursuit of excellence in all College practices related to academic learning and teaching.
- Work collaboratively with the College teaching and learning leaders to ensure the provision of quality education programs and adherence to teaching and learning academic policies and procedures.
- Assess needs, set goals, and formulate plans of action for student improvement, and follow up and provide feedback on student progress.
- Collaborate with instructors to develop and implement any required action plans, programs, and procedures.
- Manage online testing platforms.
- Conduct the recruitment and training of instructors on College operations, teaching systems etc.
- Monitor the safety of students and address any issues relating to harassment, bullying, or discrimination.
- Prepare evaluations and summaries of students, including recommendations for the next session.
- Ensure all programs meet legislative/compliance obligations as per Ministry requirements, college policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Allocate resources to instructors and students for effective program delivery.
- Conduct program and instructor midpoint evaluations.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of student data and files.
- Promote regular school attendance and address truancy issues with students and instructors.
- Track and measure KPIs related to academics.
- Refer students to appropriate support resources when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements**
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, humanities, or a related field required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with college students.
- Ability to address student issues and resolve problems.
- Effectively work with multiple databases and student platforms.
- Creative, innovative, able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to new and rapidly changing situations.
- Experience in collecting and handling sensitive information in strictest confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
