**Overview**:
Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. is looking for a full-time **Geographic Information Systems Administrator** who is motivated, positive, and dependable. The position is based out of our North Vancouver office. We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our team of GIS, Software, and Resource Professionals. **Responsibilities**:
The position’s responsibilities will generally include:

- Database creation, management, and schema design
- Database optimization and performance tuning
- Writing SQL functions and triggers, as well as using SQL for data manipulation and analysis
- Writing Python scripts to manage systems and data
- Developing a robust monitoring and alerting system to minimize downtime and maintain data integrity
- Monitoring database and server performance
- Supporting and maintaining our PostgreSQL and ArcGIS Server environments, including version upgrades
- Managing backups for our database and GIS systems
- Troubleshooting technical issues related to our GIS systems and infrastructure
- Data ETL, management, and analysis

**Qualifications**:

- Formal education in GIS, Computer Science or related discipline
- 3 to 5 years of recent experience as a systems administrator or DBA
- Proficient in database development and software management
- Strong relational database and SQL experience, primarily with PostgreSQL
- Experience with geospatial databases (e.g. Esri SDE, PostGIS) will be considered a big asset
- Experience with Linux system administration
- Knowledge of Esri’s ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online)
- AWS experience preferred
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent communication and data management skills
- Canadian citizenship or legally qualified to work in Canada

**Compensation**:

- The hourly range is between $36-$42 and will be commensurate with experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
