**JOB SUMMARY**
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial instruments and control systems.
**OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Install, test, maintain, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation and control systems including flow, level, pressure, and temperature measurement devices.
- Perform troubleshooting and calibration of instruments to ensure accurate readings and process control, adjusting equipment as necessary.
- Maintain and update calibration records, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and correct issues.
- Ensure all instrumentation and control equipment adheres to safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and operations teams to optimize process control and ensure system functionality.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of instruments and document any changes or repairs.
- Diagnose faults or failures by using specialized equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, or signal generators.
- Support plant operations by responding quickly to maintenance requests and minimizing downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of instrumentation systems.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and assist with instrumentation upgrades and modifications.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
**REQUIRED SKILLS and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must possess construction and industrial experience.
- Must be a Certified Journeyperson in Instrumentation and Control
- Solid knowledge of various industrial instruments and control systems, including pneumatic, electronic, and digital systems.
- Proficiency in using calibration tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized software.
- Strong understanding of industry safety standards and regulations (e.g., CSA, ANSI, and company policies).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment with possible exposure to hazardous materials, high temperatures, and noisy machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be fit-for-duty.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.
- Must be able to provide clean Canadian criminal record check (within 30 days of hire)
