Water and Waste Water Treatment Operator Level 2

**ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
This position is responsible for field operation of water and wastewater treatment equipment for Terra Water Systems Inc. The Operator will be deployed to a remote work site to maintain, inspect and operate Terra supplied equipment, while staying in close contact with the client and the operations staff. The position would require a 3 weeks in camp and 3 weeks off schedule.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with on-site Terra contracted labor to assist in equipment install or removal;
- Trouble shoot and carry out equipment maintenance requirements, on a periodic basis;
- Work with Terra operations staff on site and identify/contribute to Terra’s Continuous Improvement initiatives;
- Improve skill set and knowledge by taking industry and Terra sponsored training programs;
- Focus on safety practices and policies while undertaking day to day tasks associated with the job or work site tasks;
- Building ancillary equipment as needed (pipe, hoses, lift stations, cords); and,
- Various other duties as required.
- Experience in MBR waste water treatment systems is considered an Asset
- Repair PVC, ABS and metal plumbing
- Handling water and waste water treatment chemicals
- Interpret lab results to identify inefficiencies in the operation and correct as necessary
- Inspecting ancillary equipment (lift stations, hoses, heat trace etc.) at least once every 12 hours
**ACCOUNTABILITY & DECISION MAKING**
- Issue PO’s to field contractors as required for on-site services. PO’s to be approved by Terra office.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- 2-5 minimum years in the remote work camp equipment operations or maintenance;
- Approved Level 2 Waste Water treatment operator certification and Level 2 or higher Water Treatment Operator Certification (Canada-wide)
- Eligible for Reciprocity in Newfoundland
**SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**
- Must be reliable and punctual;
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal;
- Organized and the ability to multi-task;
- Ability to meet job requirements with little daily supervision;
- Ability to organize and maintain accurate equipment files;
- Interest in keeping current with government regulations and industry requirements;
- Excellent attitude toward workplace safety;
- Computer knowledge & skills in Word, Excel, Outlook; and,
- Valid driver’s license and a current abstract.
