Do you want to become part of the Analytics team in the fast-growing Cargo branch at Air Canada? The Cargo Analytics Team aims to provide best in class analytics, predictive and prescriptive solutions to our internal stakeholders. Increasing the customer experience by empowering our colleagues to have the right information at the right time to make business decision is our key objective.

To support and enable the growth, we are looking for a Data Science Analyst that will help us discover and deliver the strategic insights hidden in vast amounts of data.

You will strongly contribute to the solution from beginning to the end. Your responsibilities will range from the identification of analytics driven opportunities derived from business problems to the development, and then the delivery of the solution by working in close collaboration with the business stakeholders, the Data, Analytics and CRM teams.

Key Functions
- Build and nurture strong working networks with the Cargo Business Units and Air Canada stakeholders to access large variety of data sources and enhance analytics value creation
- Work closely with the business units to understand their business questions and problems and derive analytics driven solutions
- Contribute to the manipulation of complex and extremely varied data sets within Air Canada Cargo and external sources to solve real world problems
- Utilize multiple sources of data along with broad range of machine learning techniques in order to improve performance and interpretability of the models
- Prepare and integrate large and various types of data (structured/non-structured)
- Contribute to data science models optimization, including feature selection and build, using different techniques in the data science toolbox
- Produce data-driven insights to help in informed decisions and actions by telling a convincing story and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
- Leverage visualization tools/packages to create powerful representations of results in the BI tools and the Cargo CRM Environment
- Help to develop automated processes for large scale end-to-end deployment
- Monitoring of steady state model operations
- Continuously validate accuracy and improve implemented solutions/models
- Provide guidance and support to the stakeholders to maximise the value of the analytics output for their decision making
- Quickly learn new methods, tools and technologies presented in research communities to implement and adapt within the daily analytics exercises
- Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with specialists in Data, CRM and Analytics

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, or Mathematics
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a data scientist or in a similar role
- Experience and understanding in statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
- Experience with common data science toolkits
- Experience with cloud data science tools particularly (Dataiku,Azure ML, Databricks)
- Programming experience in at least one of the following languages: R, Python, Scala, SQL
Good presentation and communication skills particularly when presenting to business units
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Webfocus, Tableau
- Knowledge of databases and data exploration with technologies like Snowflake, Azure Cloud platform, Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with Salesforce particularly for reporting and analytics an asset
- Passion for solving complex business challenges by utilizing latest technology solutions
- Able to translate Business requirements into User Stories or Design Thinking frameworks
- Be highly driven and able to self-manage in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to communicate with both technical and business audiences
- Able to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout the organization
- Team player enjoying working in a collaborative environment
