We are currently looking to fill a permanent, part-time/on-call Janitor position for our Farms operations in our Leamington, ON location.

**Job Details**:
The On-Call Janitor will cover absences within the Janitorial Department to ensure our facilities are cleaned and tidied regularly. Food safety is of top concern at our operation, and to meet food safety standards, proper cleanliness and sanitation are essential. The role of our Janitorial staff is thus crucial to ensuring our operations are in the cleanest conditions possible for maximum quality assurance.

**Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Covers absences within the Janitorial Department
- Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning must be completed according to the Master Cleaning Checklist.
- Enter and submit all cleaning duties on the Mobile Cleaning Checklist Form daily.
- Maintaining cleanliness in common areas throughout the building; offices, boardrooms, washrooms, kitchens, greenhouse lunchrooms, greenhouse washrooms, warehouse lunchrooms, warehouse washrooms and entrances.
- Clean dishes, counters, all surfaces, chairs, windows, doors, appliances, walls, empty garbage’s/recycle bins, sweep and mop floors.
- Maintain an organized workspace in the janitorial closet including the janitorial cart.
- Order/restock kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies.
- Stock PPE stations each day including visitor PPE kits. Order PPE as needed.
- Keep Cintas inventory up to date on a daily basis.
- Report problems/work orders that require attention to Supervisor.
- Participate in meetings/training regarding changes to the cleaning standards and processes and company policies and procedures.
- Follow OHSA guidelines for handling chemicals and use of proper protective equipment as required for daily duties.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are labeled correctly according to the area they are used.
- Assist with cleaning additional locations when required to cover absences.
- Additional duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**:

- Janitors are not required to have any education or experience. Any required training is provided during or after orientation.
- Reading, communication and attention to detail are extremely important in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position covers absences scheduled ahead of time and last minute on-call.
- On-call shift start times will vary based on circumstances, flexibility with the schedule is required.
- Scheduled shifts will start at 5:30AM
- Possible workdays are Monday - Friday.
- May be required to travel from location to location.
- Exposure to irritants: cleaning detergents, dust, dirt, biologicals.
- The greenhouse may be hot, wet, humid, or cold at any time during the year. There may also be pests. i.e. bees

**Physical Requirements**:

- A janitor’s entire shift is spent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, lifting, and stretching.
- Someone that has allergies, or a weak stomach may have a very difficult time with tasks.
