As a Verisk Loss Control Specialist, you will evaluate residential sites for multiple lines of insurance coverage, loss prevention and risk assessment. You will assist insurers in their policy underwriting and pricing decisions through onsite observations and reporting. This is a full-time position where you will use effective planning and organizational skills to schedule and complete residential/personal lines site visits and reports. You’ll get to witness an endless variety of properties through the lens of the insurance carrier.

En tant que spécialiste du contrôle des pertes chez Verisk, vous évaluerez des sites résidentiels pour plusieurs lignes de couverture d'assurance, la prévention des pertes et l'évaluation des risques. Vous aiderez les assureurs dans leurs décisions de souscription et de tarification des polices par des observations et des rapports sur place. As a Verisk Loss Control Specialist, you will:

- Schedule and conduct on-site visits and complete appropriate reports for our customers to evaluate risk. Identify different residential occupancies, construction materials, fire protection systems, and safety measures and develop recommendations pertaining to safety and loss control.
- Professionally represent Verisk and our customers via phone, in person and written correspondence.
- Execute our data quality commitment using your eye for detail and communication skills in completing accurate and customer-centric reports.

En tant que spécialiste du contrôle des pertes chez Verisk, vous devrez:

- Planifier et effectuer des visites sur site et rédiger des rapports appropriés pour que nos clients puissent évaluer les risques. Identifier les différents types d'occupations résidentielles, les matériaux de construction, les systèmes de protection contre l'incendie et les mesures de sécurité, et élaborer des recommandations en matière de sécurité et de contrôle des pertes.
- Représenter Verisk et nos clients de manière professionnelle par téléphone, en personne et par correspondance écrite.
- Tenir notre engagement en matière de qualité des données en utilisant votre sens du détail et vos compétences en communication pour établir des rapports précis et centrés sur le client.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience; preferred fields of study or experience may include Risk Management and Insurance, Construction Management, Property and Liability Insurance, and Safety. Preferred experience may include insurance loss control, underwriting or claims; home appraisals/valuations, building construction, compliance or other property inspections; and fire safety and industrial safety occupations.
- Ability to fluently read, write, and communicate in French and English.
- Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write concise and informative reports to quality standards.
- Self-motivated planning and goal-setting skills, resulting in effective and consistent work habits. You can efficiently route, schedule, document and conduct site visits for optimal use of time, all with mínimal direct supervision.
- Record and observe specific details and measurements, gather data, map and travel to and from all sites. The job involves working in various environments and weather conditions; walking, standing, climbing stairs, driving for periods required to complete work assignments; and occasional use of ladders.
- Professional designations such as CIP, PEng, CRM, CRA, AACI, or EIT.
