**Summary**
The Foreperson fosters an environment of construction execution excellence, as well as building a culture of providing solutions, not problems. The Foreperson will be responsible for the organization of the day-to-day activities on the job site. The Foreperson will ensure that activities are being completed safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality. They will be proficient in all areas of Distribution Construction. The Foreperson works closely with Site Supervisors, Operations, Project Management, and Fleet to ensure that projects are profitable and delivered on time.
**Qualifications**
- Journeyperson PLT
- Formal Supervisor training considered an asset
- 4+ years’ experience as a Journeyperson involved in high voltage electrical distribution construction.
**Skills**
- Proficient at underground and overhead distribution construction execution and planning
- General knowledge of the Alberta utility network, code, and regulations.
- Ability to coach and mentor apprentices
- Comfortable with computer software such as excel, word and PDF editors.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients
**Duties**
**Leadership**
- Uphold Iconic core values.
- Provide positive examples of conduct, safety and mentoring to direct reports.
- Will assume responsibility for overseeing smaller job scopes involving a crew of five people or fewer.
**Operations**
- Hold daily tailboard and close meetings with direct reports.
- Supply daily reports to clients, Operations and project management.
- Review project safety, security and environmental policies and procedures with direct reports
- Ensure the accuracy and completion of project quality requirements, such as reports, checklists, and photographs.
- Review and understand corporate policies/procedures.
- Review and understand project schedule/milestones.
- Participate in resource planning with Operations, project and fleet managers.
- Assist the Construction Manager Earthworks & Distribution with the evaluation of direct reports.
- Submit daily timesheets to Iconic office and help manage/minimize overtime.
- Monitor discrepancies between bid and post-award work scope
- Coordinate day to day work scope with fellow Forepersons foreman on large scale projects.
- Manage project to worked hours estimated in proposal. Report deviations from worked hours estimated to Project Management.
- Identify any field level scope changes to Project Manager and Construction Manager for pricing and client approval.
- Ensuring every team member gets home safely.
- Ensuring all projects are profitable and meet or exceed proposal margins.
- Guide direct reports to fulfill their job duties effectively.
- Building relationships with client field level Forepersons.
